Free-Tier Terms
Free services are real services, with a few extra rules that keep them sustainable. These apply on top of the terms of service and the acceptable use policy.
Free VPS
- One per verified student.
- Click Keep alive in the client area once every 30 days. If you don’t within 7 days of the reminder, the server pauses. A paused server is deleted after 14 more days, and we email you before that.
- Shared CPU with fair-use scheduling. No dedicated IPv4; IPv6 and forwarded IPv4 ports are provided.
Free web hosting
- One site per person.
- Log in at least once every 60 days or the site is archived.
- Free subdomains are issued on a separate domain from ours.
Free RDP trial
- Seven days, one trial per person, ever. Verified students only.
- The server is deleted at the end of the trial unless you upgrade before it ends.
Launchpad VDS
- Applications are reviewed by a person. Approval is not guaranteed.
- Up to 30 days per approved application. Not for commercial use.
Free first-year domain
- Included with eligible annual hosting plans, for the endings listed on each plan.
- Renews at the normal price after the first year unless you cancel.
Changes to free plans
We may change free plan limits with 30 days’ email notice. We won’t turn a free plan into a paid one without your order.
